BUILDING HISTORY
The Livermore Veterans Memorial Building has been a cornerstone of the community since its dedication in 1931. Owned by Alameda County and maintained by Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) since 1977, the facility continues to serve as a gathering place for veterans, community groups, and special events. While the county remains responsible for major building repairs, LARPD oversees the facility's daily operations, scheduling, and maintenance.
The building has long been the headquarters for American Legion Post #47, a local chapter established in June 1919 and officially joining the national organization later that year. The American Legion has played a vital role in advocating for veterans’ rights and benefits. Outside the building, a memorial wall stands in tribute to those who have served.
Whether hosting veteran-related events, community gatherings, or private functions, the Livermore Veterans Memorial Building remains a lasting symbol of honor and service in Livermore.
This 5,000-square-foot mission-style building features a spacious auditorium measuring approximately 50 feet by 75 feet, accommodating up to 200 guests.
