LARPD Offers Volunteer Opportunities for Halloween and Upcoming Holiday Season
Upcoming volunteer opportunities with LARPD
Livermore, CA - October 13, 2023 - The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) is gearing up for an array of exciting volunteer opportunities that promise spooktacular fun and festive cheer this Halloween and throughout the upcoming holiday season. Here's a quick look at what LARPD has in store:
Halloween Boo Bash:

LARPD invites volunteers aged 14 and up to sign up for the Halloween Boo Bash on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Robert Livermore Community Center. This family-friendly event offers a safe and enjoyable environment for embracing the Halloween spirit. Volunteer sign-ups are open now.
Sycamore Scares at Ravenswood:
On Sunday, October 29th, LARPD Rangers are calling on volunteers aged 16 and above to join the annual "Sycamore Scares" event, held for the first time at the Ravenswood Historic Site. Costumes are encouraged, and the volunteer commitment includes a rehearsal at the Ravenswood Historic Site on Wednesday, October 25th, from 4 to 5 p.m., and the main event on Sunday, October 29th, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Monthly Volunteer Work Day at Sycamore Grove Park:
LARPD presents a monthly volunteer work day at Sycamore Grove Park, held every 3rd Saturday of the month from September to May. Volunteers aged 14 and older will assist with tasks such as removing invasive plants, litter pick-up, trail maintenance, and ensuring the park remains a beautiful and healthy place for visitors and wildlife. Upcoming dates include 10/21, 11/18, and 12/16, from 9 am to 12 pm.
NEW! Ranger Program Youth Volunteers:
LARPD introduces a new opportunity for youth aged 14 and up to assist LARPD Rangers at programs and special events. This includes "Cold-Blooded Creepies with Ranger Mae" on October 22nd, "Trunk or Treat with LARPD Rangers" on October 25th, and "Identifying Feathers, Arts & Crafts with Ranger Mae" on November 5th.
Coming Soon: Volunteer Events for the Holiday Season:
As the holiday season approaches, LARPD is preparing for a series of festive volunteer events, including "Santa Letters," "Ravenswood Victorian Yuletide" on Sunday, 12/8, "Donuts with Santa" on Saturday, 12/16, "Ranger programs" throughout November, December, and January, "Ho Ho Holiday Carnival" on Saturday, 12/9, and "Holiday Break Camps" in November, December, and January.
